San Francisco expands bus electrification with powertrains from BAE Systems

USA / UK – BAE Systems has announced that the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA) has ordered three Nova Bus LFSe+ vehicles featuring BAE Systems’ Series-EV battery electric drivetrain for a trial of fully-electric buses in the city.

The vehicles are equipped with the BAE Systems traction motor, an all-electric system producing 200kW and 5200Nm of torque. Design and manufacture of BAE Systems’ motor and power electronics is undertaken in Endicott, New York.
