USA Nikola Corporation of Phoenix, Arizona has received a letter of intent from Heniff Transportation Systems LLC, a liquid bulk transportation specialist based in Oak Brook, Illinois, for the purchase of up to 100 Class 8 battery-electric trucks. Deliveries of the first trucks are to commence in the first half of this year.

An initial order of 10 ‘Nikola Tre’ vehicles was placed through Thompson Truck Centers, an official Nikola distributor. These will be leased through a fleet-as-a-service model, meaning that Thompson is contracted to provide sales, service, maintenance, and energy infrastructure to Heniff Transportation. Upon successful deployment of the first 10 units, 90 more are set to follow.
