Peru - The Peruvian truck segment ended 2021 with the sale of 15,680 units, an increase of 45.5% compared with 10,773 in 2020, and a gain of 27% compared with 2019, according to figures collected and supplied by the Automotive Association of Peru (AAP) based in the capital Lima. With these percentage rises in registrations over the last three years, the market is showing a steady growth in demand for commercial vehicles in the country; furthermore, AAP pointed out, the truck and tractor market in 2021 was the highest in the last seven years since 2014.

This growth has been surprising given the high death levels relating to the Covid-19 pandemic, but key segments have seen strong economic growth such as construction, mining, commerce and agribusiness, among others that demand new vehicles for the transport of goods and supplies in general have consistently risen.
