Nikola receives order for 100 electric trucks from Saia

USA – Nikola Corporation of Phoenix, Arizona announced that Saia Inc, a less-than-truckload freight carrier based in Johns Creek, Georgia, has signed a Letter of Intent to purchase of lease 100 battery-electric trucks from Nikola, following satisfactory completion of a demonstration programme.

The trial will involve three ‘Nikola Tre’ battery-electric vehicles operating in separate locations across Saia’s network, beginning in the first half of this year. Deliveries of 100 production vehicles are expected to follow through 2024, with the first 25 slated for delivery by the end of 2022.
