Goodyear and HERE collaborate on predictive tyre maintenance

Netherlands – Goodyear Europe B.V. (the Amsterdam-based subsidiary of The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co, based in Akron, Ohio) and HERE Technologies, based in Eindhoven, Netherlands, have announced a partnership to integrate HERE’s location services into Goodyear’s Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS).
Goodyear’s TPMS is a combined sensor and algorithm solution that the firm claims can help firms avoid 90% of tyre-related breakdowns. With HERE location services enabled in Goodyear’s TPMS, operators and service providers in Europe can identify the location of localise a vehicle in need of service or roadside assistance to within a few metres, allowing them to navigate the vehicle to the nearest maintenance station.
