Kenworth showcases its first electric Class 8 truck

USA – Kenworth Truck Co (a subsidiary of Paccar Inc), headquartered in Kirkland, Washington, has debuted its fully electric T680E Class 8 truck at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas. The T680E is the first Class 8 electric truck that the firm has produced.

Featuring a tandem 14Xe electric axle from Troy, Michigan-based Meritor Inc, the truck offers peak power output of 670hp and 1,623lb-ft of torque. Equipped with a 396kWh battery, Kenworth claims the T680E has a range of 150 miles, making it suitable for regional haul and delivery.
