Proterra and Vicinity Motor sign multi-year supply agreement for battery systems

USA / CanadaProterra Inc of Burlingame, California, USA has signed an agreement to supply Vicinity Motor Corp of Aldergrove, British Columbia, Canada with battery systems for Vicinity Motor’s commercial electric vehicles. The American battery manufacturer is contracted to supply a minimum of 600 Vicinity Motor vehicles through 2024, starting later this year. 

The supply agreement concerns the ‘Vicinity Lightning’ line of 28-foot transit buses as well as Vicinity Motor’s strip chassis platform for various commercial applications, including utility trucks, shuttle buses, and box trucks. The agreement is also expected to extend to Vicinity Motor’s next-generation heavy-duty electric transit bus and its VMC 1200 and 1500 Class 3/5 work truck ranges.
