Solaris receives order for 183 battery-electric articulated buses to serve in Oslo

Poland / Norway - Solaris Bus & Coach sp. z o.o. of Bolechowo, Poland has been selected in a tender for 183 battery-electric articulated buses, representing the company’s largest such order to date. The contract, signed on 14 January by Solaris and operator Unibuss AS of Oslo, Norway, is worth approximately EUR100m.
The ‘Urbino 18 electric’ buses which will serve in the city of Oslo will be fitted with high energy batteries with a capacity of over 500 kWh and an electric motor with a maximum output of nearly 250 kW. Unibuss is an old Solaris customer; the new buses, set to arrive in April 2023, will replace a fleet of older Solaris Urbino diesel models which are being taken out of operation.
