USA – A consortium of public transit agencies and private companies involved in the manufacture of buses and related components, called the ‘Hydrogen Fuel Cell Bus Council’, was formed on 18 January in Washington, DC with the intention of promoting the development and uptake of hydrogen fuel-cell electric buses in the United States.

The council’s stated aim is to educate policymakers, regulators, and transportation sector stakeholders on the benefits of large-scale adoption of fuel-cell electric buses, with the hope of expanding market opportunities for hydrogen vehicles. Its members include several transit agencies, bus manufacturer NFI Group, and hydrogen fuel system manufacturers such as Hexagon Purus, Ballard Power Systems and Loop Energy
