Vietnam pickup truck sales improve by 32%

Vietnam - Sales of pickup trucks surged by 32% to 9,855 units in the fourth quarter of 2021 from 7,487 units in the same period of the previous year, resulting in a 29% rise in full-year sales to 25,325 units from 19,697 units in 2020. 

Ford continued to dominate this segment last year with sales of its Ranger model rising by almost 18% to 15,650 units, while Toyota made up some ground in second place after sales of its Hilux model surged by 67% to 4,413 units. Sales of the Mitsubishi Triton, through local distributor Vinastar, also enjoyed a sharp rise – of 64% to 3,683 units, while Mazda reported a 3% drop in sales of its BT-50 model to 1,288 units.
