New PACCAR TX-18 transmissions to be fitted in Peterbilt heavy trucks

USAPeterbilt Motors Company of Denton, Texas has announced that a new series of automated transmissions supplied1 by its parent company, PACCAR Inc of Bellevue, Washington, will be fitted in Peterbilt heavy trucks, bringing improvements to performance and efficiency. 

The ‘TX-18’ and ‘TX-18 Pro’ are designed to work exclusively with PACCAR’s MX-11 and MX-13 engines. These are suited for long-haul applications in Peterbilt Models 389 and 579 and heavy-duty purposes such as tippers and cranes with the Peterbilt Model 567. Together with the MX series, the TX-18 provides up to 1,850 lb. ft of torque and is rated up to 140,000 lb gross combined weight.
