GBP62m for Scottish-built zero-emission buses

UK – The Scottish Zero Emission Bus Challenge Fund (ScotZEB) has announced an award of GBP62 million in funding to bus operators as part of Phase 1 of the ScotZEB project. The scheme is providing funding to operators and local authorities for the purchase of 276 zero emission buses and the associated charging infrastructure.

Alexander Dennis Ltd (ADL), based in Larbert, Scotland, has stated that it has received successful proposals for 137 zero-emission buses as part of the scheme. ScotZEB follows two previous funding rounds from the predecessor Scottish Ultra-Low Emission Bus Scheme in September 2020 and March 2021, which supported the purchase of 207 electric buses from Alexander Dennis.
