The E-Tech: Renault Trucks’ bid to lead the race to zero-emission trucks

The Renault Trucks D E-Tech

France – For over sixty years, the manufacturing facility at Blainville-sur-Orne – just a short drive from the coast in the Calvados department in Normandy – has produced medium-duty truck chassis and truck cabs under the Renault Trucks banner (and previously under the Saviem and Renault Véhicules Industriels brands). Recently, activity at the plant has undergone something of a sea change: in 2020, it became the centre of Renault Trucks’ electric vehicle production; today, it is the launchpad for the company’s new ‘E-Tech’ brand, which will replace the ‘ZE’ name for all Renault Trucks’ electric vehicles on the market between 3.1t and 26t.
