Traton to increase R&D spending in e-mobility to EUR2.6bn

Germany – Traton SE, a parent of several bus and truck manufacturers based in Munich, Bavaria, has announced it will increase planned investments into e-mobility research and development to EUR2.6bn between now and 2026, an adjustment of its original budget of EUR1.6bn to 2025.

The group has reiterated its commitment to scaling back investment in conventional drivelines and focusing its efforts almost entirely on the development of battery-electric drives. Traton CEO Christian Levin commented that electric drives
