The financial results of Traton - which includes the MAN, Scania, International, and Volkswagen Truck & Bus brands - remained steady compared to the year before, with sales revenues improving by just 1% from EUR46,872m in 2023 to EUR47,473m in 2024.

The two companies will partner to develop a software platform shared across Traton’s brands, including MAN, Scania, International, and Volkswagen Truck & Bus.

Klingenberg will assume his new position on 1 January 2025 and will be tasked with executing the transition to a group R&D organisation at Traton.

Customers of MAN and Scania who make use of MAN ‘Charge&Go’ or Scania ‘Charging Access’ will now be able to use Hubject’s ‘Intercharge’ network of charging points.

The truck had arrived directly from the MAN stand at the Road Transport Expo (RTX) show (4-6 June) at the NAEC Stoneleigh, in Warwickshire, UK.

The group’s uplisting to the MDAX is recognition of its middle level, or “mid-cap”, market capitalisation.

The parent of MAN, Scania, and Navistar reported record vehicle sales of 338,200 units for 2023, a 10.7% improvement on the year prior (30,500 units).

The idea is to allow customers to find public chargers nearby which can accommodate trucks and pay for charging their vehicles on receipt of a single consolidated invoice.

Traton brands will be enabled to import trailer data to the Rio portal, and truck data will also be imported to Schmitz’s ‘TrailerConnect’ platform.

Traton has signed a framework agreement with its parent company, Volkswagen, which outlines the terms for selling and transferring the rights to provide financial services for MAN and Volkswagen Truck & Bus to Traton Financial Services.

The dissolution decision follows a meeting of the Hino board on April 26, 2023.
