ZF reports record sales of EUR38bn in 2021

GermanyZF Friedrichshafen AG (ZF), a component and mobility systems manufacturer based in Friedrichshafen, Baden-Württemberg, has published its annual report for 2021, in which it released record sales figures of EUR38bn. This is a 17.5% increase on sales of EUR32.6bn recorded in 2020. ZF’s adjusted earnings before interest and taxes were EUR1.9bn, providing a 5% profit margin. 

The bulk of the ZF Group’s sales were in components for passenger cars and light commercial vehicles (weighing under 6t), representing 73% of revenues. The commercial vehicle segment, weighing more than 6t, accounted for 18% of sales. The Commercial Vehicle Control Systems and Commercial Vehicle Technology divisions of the company, now merged into Commercial Vehicle Solutions – focused on the development of innovative e-mobility and automated technologies – achieved sales of EUR3.1bn and EUR3.9bn respectively, representing 9% and 7% of total sales (when split according to company division and not by segment).
