Mercedes-Benz eEconic undergoing arctic testing in Finland

Germany / Finland – Daimler Truck AG, based in Stuttgart, Germany, has announced the Mercedes-Benz eEconic has completed its final endurance tests before the start of series production.

The eEconic was tested in the Arctic Circle at temperatures as low as -25°C to prepare it for its intended municipal use in Rovaniemi, Finland. Engineers tested the behaviour of the batteries and electric powertrain systems at low temperatures while simulating a waste collection duty cycle. The low-floor truck is based on the eActros heavy-duty urban distribution vehicle which went into series production in late 2021.
