Colombia – Sales of city buses (many electric) as replacement vehicles to those in fleet operation in Bogotá led to strong growth in the passenger vehicle segment in Colombia during January to March this year (2022).

According to data released by Andemos (National Association for Sustainable Mobility), this is the first quarter increase in bus sales in Colombia since March 2020. The new figures show that 858 units were delivered, against 356 in the same period of the previous year – registering a growth of 141.0%. BYD, with 554 units sold, was market leader, an increase of 502% when compared with the 92 units delivered in the first quarter of 2021, and a market share of 64.6%.
