Truck sales in Italy surpass pre-pandemic figures

Italy – Sales of medium and heavy trucks (weighing more than 3,500kg) in Italy, according to the Italian Automotive Association – ANFIA - grew by 5% over pre-pandemic levels, increasing from 23,606 in 2019 to 24,776 in 2021. This too meant a considerable increase of 22.2% over 2020 levels when 20,276 units were registered. Italy is placed 5th overall in the European truck market, accounting for 6.8% of all sales. 

5.9% of all medium to heavy commercial vehicles sold in Italy were powered by alternative drivelines, compared with the 3.7% European average, according to ANFIA. This is accounted for by the relative strength of gas truck sales in Italy, making up 5.8% of all truck sales.
