Navistar prepares Huntsville plant for Traton’s Common Base Engine production

USANavistar International Corporation, a commercial vehicle manufacturer based in Lisle, Illinois, is preparing its powertrain plant in Huntsville, Alabama, to produce its parent company’s (Traton Group) “common modular system” (engine) for trucks and buses made in North America. 

The American company commenced building a 110,000-square-foot extension to the facility in February 2020, representing an initial investment of USD125m. An additional USD65m has been invested since, bringing the total to USD190m.
