Germany – At a press event (‘Q-Days 2022’) held at its Gersthofen, Bavaria headquarters between 26 and 28 April, Quantron AG unveiled a new Quantron-branded light battery-electric truck, alongside a heavy tractor unit converted to also run on battery electricity.

The ‘Quantron Qargo 4 EV’ is an approximately 4.5t truck with a 3.3m wheelbase, giving it greater manoeuvrability and a smaller turning radius for last-mile applications in inner-city areas. It is powered by a lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery system, containing no cobalt, which is supplied by CATL of Ningde, Fujian, China. The 81-kWh energy storage propels a 2,300 kg payload up to 350 km on a single charge, with fast charging taking just over an hour.
