Up to 565 New Flyer buses ordered for Toronto

CanadaNew Flyer Industries Canada ULC of Winnipeg, Manitoba has signed contracts for the supply of up to 565 primarily hybrid-electric buses to the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC), which serves the city of Toronto in Ontario. 

According to the terms of the four-year contracts, TTC has placed firm orders for 134 Xcelsior forty-foot hybrid-electric buses and 68 Xcelsior sixty-foot hybrid-electric buses, and it may order up to an additional 263 forty-foot hybrid-electric buses as well as 100 sixty-foot buses (driveline unspecified). All Xcelsior units ordered are fitted with a hybrid system, the Modular Accessory Power System, made by BAE Systems
