Daimler Truck unveils series production Freightliner eCascadia at ACT Expo

USA – Freightliner Trucks, a division of Daimler Truck North America LLC, unveiled its new eCascadia at ACT Expo in Long Beach, California. The eCascadia, built on Freightliner’s popular Cascadia Class 8 platform, is designed for short-haul applications that support depot charging. These applications might include last mile logistics, local and regional distribution, drayage, and warehouse to warehouse operations.

The electric powertrain has been developed by Detroit Diesel Corp, another subsidiary of Daimler Truck North America. The e-powertrain offers two e-axle designs, one with a dual motor outputting 395bhp and 23,000lb-ft, and a single motor with 195bhp and 11,500lb-ft.
