Plus launches autonomous retrofit programme in USA

USA – Plus of Cupertino, California has launched a national retrofit programme, claiming that it can install its driver-in autonomous vehicle hardware in its customers’ Class 8 trucks within a single day.
The ‘Plus Build’ programme will install existing vehicles with ‘PlusDrive’, a product package comprising LiDAR, radar, and camera sensors together with the company’s proprietary autonomous driving software. With driver supervision, PlusDrive can enable trucks to autonomously change between and centre within lanes, while also providing advanced driver assistance features such as adaptive cruise control, predictive fuel optimisation, and driver attentiveness detection.
