Germany – Stuttgart-based Daimler Truck AG has announced that its Daimler Buses division will offer CO2-neutral vehicles in every segment by 2030. Initially, the division is focusing its electrification strategy on the core markets of Europe and Latin America.

By 2030, the company will only offer CO2 neutral city buses for the European market. With a later cut-off of 2039, the company will exclusively sell new CO2-neutral buses in Europe. To facilitate the deadline, the firm is developing electric and hydrogen inter-city vehicles. Daimler Truck states that its first electric inter-city bus is scheduled for 2025, with a hydrogen fuel cell vehicle to arrive at the end of the decade.
