BYD ADL partnership delivers 1000th electric bus

The 1000th BYD ADL electric bus delivered to Stagecoach in Aberdeen
UK – The joint partnership between Larbert-based Alexander Dennis Ltd and BYD UK Co Ltd of Iver, the UK subsidiary of BYD Auto Co Ltd of Shenzhen, China, has delivered its 1000th electric bus. The BYD ADL Enviro400EV double decker bus was part-funded by the Scottish Government and was handed over to Stagecoach in Aberdeen.
Sales of the partnerships two electric offerings, the Enviro200EV single decker and the Enviro400EV double decker, were initially slow off the ground – it took the firms five years to deliver their 500th electric bus. However, just one year later, they have delivered the 1000th vehicle.
