Scania showcases fire trucks at Interschutz in Hanover

Germany / Sweden – At Interschutz 2022 – a trade fair for fire and rescue services and civil protection and security industries held in Hanover, Lower Saxony, Germany between 20-25 June – Scania AB of Södertälje, Sweden showcased a range of new cab-chassis for firefighting applications, including a hybrid electric truck. 

Four fire trucks in total were on display at the Scania stand, along with two engines from the Power Solutions division. The main product which Scania promoted ‘CrewCab’, a tractor unit with a number of features specially suited to rescue and emergency applications. One of these is its rollover side curtain airbags. Installed in the ceiling, these are intended to protect crew members in case of a rollover accident. The CrewCab is the only vehicle in the industry installed with such a system, according to Scania.
