Karsan trials Autonomous e-ATAK in the USA and enters service in Norway

USA / Norwegian / Turkey – May saw trials start of Karsan’s Level 4 autonomous e-ATAK 8-metre 22-seat (52 person) low floor city bus on a 2.5-mile route* on the student campus at Michigan State University, Michigan, USA.

The Autonomous e-ATAK, offering Level 4 autonomy, was developed and produced for autonomous use by bus manufacturer, Karsan Otomotiv Sanayii ve Tic. A.Ş. at its R&D centre in Bursa, Turkey in cooperation with ADASTEC, a San Francisco-based tech company and producer of an automated driving software platform called flowride.ai, which enables OEMs to develop modern, automated, shared and connected commercial vehicles. It is its first deployment of the flowride.ai software.
