Brazilian truck production in first six months falls 3.9% - whereas bus output increases by 29%

Brazil - Brazilian truck production fell by 3.9% to 71,772 units in January to June 2022 compared with 74,722 units manufactured in the same period of 2021, according to data from ANFAVEA (National Association of Automotive Vehicle Manufacturers).

Bus chassis production rose by 29.1% or the equivalent of 3,000 units in January to June 2022 to 13,331, up from 10,324 in the same period of 2021. Coach numbers gained significant traction for the first time in while with output increasing 52% to 1,874 units (1,233). The urban / city bus sector remains the lion’s share of the passenger transport sector with 11,457 units outputted, a rise of 26.0% on 9,091; almost a rise of 2,500 units.
