JapanCommercial Japan Partnership Technologies Corporation (CJPT), a research joint venture into alternative propulsion systems, has expelled Hino Motors Ltd from all projects involving CJPT and its partners following the revelation of Hino’s misconduct concerning certification testing.

CJPT was established in April 2021 by Toyota, Izuzu and Hino; recently, the joint venture announced it is working on a fuel-cell electric light truck and swappable battery systems for EVs. It has taken the decision, however, to exclude Hino from all joint activities after reports made by Hino itself and by the Japanese government of misconduct relating to certification of its engines.
