Daimler Truck begins production of Mercedes-Benz trucks in China

Series production of Mercedes-Benz Actros begins in Beijing production facility

China – Beijing Foton Daimler Automotive Co Ltd (BFDA) - a 50:50 joint venture between Daimler Truck AG of Stuttgart, Germany and Beiqi Foton Motor Co Ltd of Beijing - has started series production of Daimler’s third generation Mercedes-Benz Actros at a new production facility in Beijing. This is the first ever locally produced Mercedes-Benz truck in China.

The new production facility, which extends to more than 400,000 square metres, provides a highly flexible and scalable production line to manufacture two models for the Chinese heavy-duty truck market, the Actros and the Actros C, with a capacity of 60,000 units per year.
