Daimler Trucks has been involved in the Chinese joint venture for more than a decade; this is the first time a Mercedes-Benz-badged Actros will roll off a producion there.

The Actros and Actros C will be produced in a new 400,000 square-metre facility in Beijing.

Meritor will supply the Foton-Daimler joint venture with custom versions of its long-haul tandem and rear-drive axles, to be fitted on tractor units for the Chinese market.
