BYD announces entry into European e-truck market at IAA

BYD ETH8 andETM6 Trucks at IAA 2022

GermanyBYD Europe BV of Schiedam, Netherlands, the European subsidiary of Shenzhen, China-based BYD Auto Co Ltd, used the IAA Transportation 2022 event in Hanover last month to launch two new electric trucks, marking its entry into the European e-truck market. The new trucks are the BYD ETM6, a 7.5 tons gvw truck for the urban delivery truck market and the BYD ETH8 (19 tons) for general distribution,  waste collection and recycling.

The ETM6 e-truck, which has a 3,990kg payload, is fitted with a 150-kW electric motor and a 126-kWh battery (LFP) pack, capable of providing a range of up to 200 km (124 miles). DC fast charging is possible at up to 120 kW. While the ETM6 e-truck is ready for purchase in Europe now, the ETH8 is not.
