VDL debuts new generation Citea e-bus model at InnoTrans

Netherlands / Germany - The Dutch bus and coach manufacture, VDL Bus & Coach BV of Valkenswaard, Netherlands, debuted its new Citea electric bus model at InnoTrans 2022 in Berlin.
The new generation of Citeas consist of low floor and low entry models in four lengths and five model types: 12.2 metres (Low Floor (LF-122) and Low Entry (LE-122), 13.5m (LE-135), 14.9m (LE-149) and 18.1m (LF-181 Low Floor Articulated). For the first time features electric drivelines from ZF and are powered using VDL’s own in-house battery packs. With the introduction of the new Citea range, VDL claims an energy consumption reduction of 25 per cent and to have extended the range on a single charge by up to 35 per cent compared with previous models.
