France Renault Trucks SAS, a subsidiary of the Volvo Group based in Saint-Priest, France, has opened pre-orders for its upcoming heavy-duty battery-electric trucks, which are set to enter production at the end of 2023.

The 44-tonne ‘E-Tech T’ and ‘E-Tech C’, first announced in March, are designed for regional haul and construction applications respectively. The specifications of the trucks, which will be assembled at the plant in Bourg-en-Bresse, remain unchanged. However, Renault Trucks has announced that the batteries will incorporate components supplied by Samsung SDI and will be assembled at parent Volvo’s new battery plant in Ghent.
