France – The Safra Group of Albi, France made two announcements related to new hydrogen technologies at the AutoCar Expo, held in Lyon between 12 and 15 October: it launched its ‘H2-Pack’ fuel cell retrofit kit for coaches, and it released details of the first orders for its new ‘Hycity’ fuel-cell electric bus range.

The H2-Pack comprises a set of fuel-cell electric driveline components supplied by Safra’s partners. These include hydrogen tanks and a 70-kW fuel cell provided by Plastic Omnium, as per an agreement recently concluded between the two companies. The kit also features a 350-kW Dana TM4 traction motor and a 71-kWh auxiliary NMC battery from Microvast which is recharged exclusively by the fuel cell.
