Germany – Daimler Truck AG of Stuttgart, and Gehring Technologies GmbH & Co KG of Ostfildern, Baden-Württemberg, a machinery manufacturer, have entered into a strategic partnership to build up expertise in electric motor design, process development and construct protypes of electric motors at Daimler’s Gaggenau technical centre for electric drive components. Gehring will supply technical equipment to the plant, which currently supplies components for the eActros and eEconic. For many years, the plant has specialised in heavy-duty commercial vehicle transmissions and is developing into a competence centre for electric drive components as well as the assembly of hydrogen-based fuel cell drive components.
