Renault Trucks receives 73 electric truck order for Barcelona

France / SpainRenault Trucks SAS, a subsidiary of the Volvo Group based in Saint-Priest, France, has been awarded a public contract for 73 battery-electric trucks to serve in waste management and street cleaning operations in the city of Barcelona, Spain. 

The 73 E-Tech D and D Wide trucks will be distributed between three sub-contractors: CLD Sorigué, Urbaser, and Valoriza. The vehicles comprise a range of different body types for specific applications, including rear- and side-loading refuse collection trucks, sweeper-sprayer tankers, tippers, and trucks mounted with cranes and lifting hooks. The trucks will be delivered in batches, with the first having already gone out to work in the city. Renault Trucks will teach the drivers how to safely and efficiently operate the battery-electric vehicles.
