Axalta Coating Systems appoints Villavarayan as new CEO

Chris Villavarayan, Axalta's new CEO
USA - Axalta Coating Systems of Philadelphia, USA, a provider of liquid and powder coatings, has appointed Chris Villavarayan as its new Chief Executive Officer, President and a member of the company’s Board of Directors, effective January 1, 2023, taking over from interim CEO, Rakesh Sachdev.
Villavarayan, who served previously as CEO and President of Meritor Inc, is credited with successfully transitioning the company into electric powertrains. Before that, he was the Chief Operating Officer of the same company, responsible for the global truck, aftermarket and industrial business segments of the business.
