USAThermo King Corporation, a manufacturer of vehicle refrigeration products based in Bloomington, Minnesota, is collaborating with the University of Minnesota to offer the state’s first-ever graduate credential programme in electrification engineering.

Launching in the autumn of this year, the course will reportedly provide students with a comprehensive understanding of fleet electrification trends and state-of-the-art EV technologies, at the end of which they will be awarded certificates in electrification engineering. The course will be administered by the Technological Leadership Institute within the university’s College of Science and Engineering. The course hopes to meet growing demand for professionals trained in electrical, mechanical and systems engineering, renewable energy policy, and energy conversion and storage – insofar as these relate to electric vehicles.
