Germany – ZF Friedrichshafen AG of Friedrichshafen, Baden-Württemberg has introduced the next generation of its series of camera products designed to support advanced driver assistance systems. Production is slated for 2025.

The product uses Mobileye’s latest ‘EyeQ6’ processor and ‘Image Processing Modules’ developed by ZF. According to ZF, the software is fully scalable between one to twelve satellite camera inputs as well as multiple radar, lidar and ultrasonic sensors. It can therefore support ADAS and automated functions from Level 2 and 2+ to Level 3.1 Operations such as automatic emergency braking and highway driving assist are supported. The camera itself provides a 120-degree field of view and a resolution of 8 megapixels, which is four times higher than that of the previous generation.
