ZF acquires smart tachograph developer Intellic

GermanyZF Friedrichshafen AG, an automotive systems developer based in Friedrichshafen, Baden-Württemberg, has announced the acquisition of Intellic GmbH, a Berlin-based authorised developer of smart tachographs which comply with the requirements of the EU Mobility Package I. 

Intellic grew out of Austrian firm Efkon GmbH, a specialist in electronic toll collection and other traffic telematic products. It specialises in so-called “smart” tachographs which can transfer data through a global navigation satellite system (GNSS) receiver. Under its previous business arrangements, Intellic was responsible for product design, with manufacture of the hardware being handled by Bosch
