South Korea / Germany - South Korea’s Hyundai Motor Group (HMG), the parent of HMC announced it has agreed to supply, Enginius, a unit of Germany’s special vehicle manufacturer, Faun Group (Faun Umwelttechnik GmbH & Co KG), based in Osterholz-Scharmbeck with more than 1,100 hydrogen fuel cell systems over a period of three years.

Faun Group is a manufacturer of bodies for the waste industry and is a significant player in the European municipal vehicle market. It plans to install Hyundai's HTWO 90-kilowatt (kW) fuel-cell systems in its municipal trucks starting with its Bluepower waste collection truck from the second half of 2023. The company’s Citypower medium-duty cargo trucks will also be fitted with the system for field tests in 2024 ahead of series production scheduled for 2025.
