Electra partners with Titan to produce zero-emission airport refueller

The TITAN-eRR20

UK / UAE – In collaboration with Dubai-based aviation company, Titan Aviation Ltd, and Electra Commercial Vehicles Ltd of Blackburn, UK, has expanded its portfolio of zero-emission vehicles with the introduction of an electric airport refueller, the 20 000 L TITAN-eRR20. It has been purchased by the Irish Airport Operator, Dublin Airport Authority (DAA), with an EU grant that covered 65% of the purchase. The refueller will be shipped to Ireland, to begin operation at one of their airports. The TITAN-eRR20 is mounted on an Electra e-Star electric chassis, with charging taking 5 hours.

With stringent European climate goals, decarbonising European airports is central to achieving these targets. Electra stated that refuelling currently represents around 19% of an airport’s ground support equipment’s CO2 emissions, with this vehicle designed to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Venturing into the airport sector is a new step for the zero-emission chassis manufacturer.
