Modine launches battery thermal management system designed to withstand harsh, dirty environments

The LCON-BTMS by Modine

USAModine Manufacturing Company of Racine, Wisconsin has launched a thermal management system for commercial electric vehicle batteries designed to withstand harsh and rugged environments such as construction sites, mines, and offroad applications.

The ‘L-CON BTMS’ (“Liquid-Cooled Condenser Battery Thermal Management System”), launched on 24 January, combines an electronic control system with Modine’s proprietary heat exchange technology. The battery temperature is actively monitored and regulated by software which was developed in-house. Modine claims its new product is a “plug-and-play solution”, including heat exchangers, wiring, and hoses, which can be installed anywhere on the vehicle chassis.
