Volvo opens fourth innovation hub at Renault Trucks HQ

Inside Volvo and Renault Trucks' CampX Lyon

Sweden / FranceAB Volvo, a truck and bus corporation based in Gothenburg, Sweden, has opened a fourth innovation hub under the ‘CampX’ moniker at the headquarters of its French subsdiary, Renault Trucks SAS, based just outside of Lyon in Saint-Priest.

CampX serves as a start-up incubator, supporting small firms and entrepreneurs with mentorship from Volvo engineers and business experts and access to research and development resources. The hub in Saint-Priest has reportedly been designed to resemble a “mini-campus”, with 400m2 of facility space for workstations, social areas, a “mini-amphitheatre” and a “creativity room”. Renault Trucks has stated that CampX Lyon will cater exclusively to start-ups with new ideas for decarbonisation, urban logistics, and vehicle uptime. Apparently, it has already signed up seven interested parties.
