Japan’s CV market decline slows in Q4 and decreases 14% for the year

Japan - Japan’s commercial vehicle market over two tons gvw fell by 3% to 81,903 units in the fourth quarter of 2022 from 84,410 units a year earlier, based on data released the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association (JAMA).

The country’s economy expanded by a slower than expected 0.6% year-on-year in the fourth quarter of 2022, after contracting by a revised 1.0% in the previous quarter, according to preliminary data released by the government. This followed 5.4% growth a year earlier, as the economy rebounded from previous Covid restrictions.
