Paccar makes minority investment in Platform Science

USA – Paccar Inc, owner of several commercial vehicle brands based in Bellevue, Washington, has announced it has made a minority equity investment in Platform Science Inc, a tech firm based in San Diego, California.

Platform Science’s main product offering is ‘Virtual Vehicle’, an edge computing platform that provides access to telematics, real-time data and third-party applications directly from the vehicle. Edge computing architecture brings computation and data storage closer to data source (i.e., the vehicle), allowing for improved response time and connection with the fleet customer’s ‘cloud’ or central database.
