Trimble acquires Transporeon, expanding transport management capabilities

USA / Germany – On 3 April, Transporeon GmbH, a logistics software firm based in Ulm, Baden-Württemberg, Germany, was acquired by technology giant Trimble Inc of Westminster, Colorado, USA, which plans to merge the firm into its Trimble Transportation subsidiary.
Last December, Trimble announced its intention to acquire the German tech firm through an all-cash transaction valued at EUR1.88bn. The deal was agreed with Hg, a private equity firm based in London and Munich which previously held the majority of shares in Transporeon. Trimble will take on Transporeon’s customers in Europe and will use its assets to enhance its transport management systems offered in both Europe and North America.
