Bogotá announces first order of 13 Superpolo fuel cell city buses powered by green hydrogen

Superpolo's Hydrogen City Bus for Bogotá Colombia

Colombia – March 27 saw Bogotá, the capital city of Colombia, announce that its first ever hydrogen-powered city bus (powered using green hydrogen) would be hitting the streets in July.

The vehicle, named 3RH2FC, is the resulting collaboration between several companies including national oil company, EcoPetrol S.A. of Bogotá, metal parts company, Grupo Fanalca S.A. of Cali, Colombia, and Brazil’s Marcopolo S.A. of Caxais do Sul. The vehicle itself has been built in Cota, Colombia at SuperPolo SAS (a joint venture between Marcopolo S.A. and Grupo Fanalca S.A.). Tests of the new hydrogen bus are to begin at the Tocancipá Racetrack and thereafter at other unspecified locations before being incorporated into the Transmilenio fleet in Bogotá.
